Here we are again… and I still can not believe a whole year has gone by since the last Best of Contest.

I love doing this, it forces me go through each and every session I did throughout the year and reminds me of all the good times I have had.

The babies I have had the pleasure to meet, the parents who trusted me enough to handle their day old babies, the siblings, the kids…. and most importantly the friendships I have created.

There is just something so personal about you allowing me into your homes, and into your life to capture the very soul of who you are…or at least that has been and always will be my goal. I thank each of you for giving me the chance to do that for you.

And so in return, I want to do something special for you…

The photos I picked were ones that meant something to me, something that tugged at my heartstrings…but trust me this was so hard since I love each session for different reasons.

Like last year, this will be a contest which you can have anyone and everyone vote… only one vote per person, I will be checking, since I want this to be completely fair.

Now for the PRIZES……

Grand Prize winner will win : 11×14 Canvas or Float mount of the winning Photo and a Photo Session to be used within 2011

2nd Prize Winner will win a $200 Gift Certificate good towards any session in 2011

Fun Contest ~ Montreal Family Photographer

In light of my upcoming birth I thought I would have a fun contest for all my fans and previous clients.

It is simple….just guess when the baby will be born in the comment field below.

You *must* enter a date and time.

A little background:

This is my third child.

My first son was late, and I was induced 2 days after my due date. I was in labor for 18 hours and had him at 3:41 AM.

My second son came 10 days early. I was in labor for 6 hours and had him at 12:05 pm.

During my 20 week Ultrasound the Doctor said he/she (it is a surprise) was measuring small.

At my Obgyn appointment last week she said the baby was neither small nor big and should be the same size as my last baby which was 7lbs 8oz.

I am now 28 weeks pregnant and my estimated due date is July 23rd.

Was it ever a close call, right to the very end…thank you to all who voted, thank you to all my beautiful subjects, without which I would not be able to create such beautiful art.

Congratulations to all the contestants, you are all winners in my heart.

Now for the results …..

In first place is Little Miss Alanna…. a real beauty and so deserving. Receiving a thin wrap deluxe 16×20 canvas.

In second place, receiving a FREE session with mellanieD photography for 2010 : The peaceful, kissable baby George.

And in third place, this was the closest…there were two tied right up to the last hours….but this photo won square and fair…

I have so much to be thankful for, beautiful children, a wonderful hubby, and the job of my dreams. I have to give thanks to each and every client, without you I wouldn’t be where I am today, thank you for making this year such a successful one. I never imagined that something I had such passion for could possibly go this far. I am in awe. I am humbled and I have all of you to thank for it.

I wanted to give back to all of you, and so, I picked my top 20 photos of 2009…and trust me….it was soooo hard. I love each and every session for different reasons, each photo I chose isn’t necessarily the best photographically but some just mean a lot to me.

How does it work?

Ok starting now…until midnight on January 13th, 2010 there will be an anonymous pole. Anybody can vote, but you are limited to one vote per person (and yes I will be checking). I want this to be absolutely fair because the prizes are going to be awesome (UPDATED!!).

Welcome to my new blog… I am so excited about this and I am going to start it off with some good news!

I am so pleased to open with the announcement of the winners from the contest I held at Babies R Us for Baby Fest this past Saturday; where I displayed some of my work and got to meet so many of you. Yup, you heard it right…winners, plural. While I had promised one free session, I decided to start off New Year being generous. Three lucky people will get a free session with mellanied photography a value of 100$ !!

Since I had so much fun meeting all of you, and being a mom myself I know just how important it is to create special memories. As a special thank you for stopping by and saying hi I am offering all other participants 50% off their first session fee with mellanied photography *if* you book a session within the next two weeks, ending Feb 4, 2009, while space is available . This doesn’t mean the session needs to be in the next two weeks but you will need to contact me with a date, since I know so many of you are expecting, I will allow you to book at date up to 6 months from today but you will need to have a deposit to reserve that date.
