It was so nice seeing you again, I love seeing “my” babies as they grow. I first met him as he was growing in mommy’s belly here and go to play with him when he was only days old here .

He has grown so much and into such a sweet, kind, energetic boy.

As someone who struggled as a child/teen/young woman with seeing any beauty in myself, I now make it a point to make every one of my clients feel as beautiful as they are.

And I really do see beauty in everything and everyone,

and I have been so blessed to be able to give this gift of mine to the world (ok well my little world and those who choose to be a part of it).

This couple is just so sweet… with so much love for one another, and so eager for this new phase of their life’s. I am so thrilled to be able to be part of it, and to be able to capture it this way.

Congrats to you both and I can’t wait to meet the baby.

I still can not get over how alert and reactive this 7 day old baby was…do you see the look she is giving her mommy just below…unbelievable really.

Baby L was so good to me, a perfect little angel.

Here is a favourite poem I came across when my first born was brand new and I still love as much today, as I did 7 years ago…

Day Old Child

My day old child lay in my arms,
With my lips against his ear.
I whispered strongly, “How I wish–
I wish that you could hear,

“I’ve a hundred wonderful things to say,
(a tiny cough and a nod),
hurry, hurry, hurry and grow
So I can tell you about God.”

Here we are again… and I still can not believe a whole year has gone by since the last Best of Contest.

I love doing this, it forces me go through each and every session I did throughout the year and reminds me of all the good times I have had.

The babies I have had the pleasure to meet, the parents who trusted me enough to handle their day old babies, the siblings, the kids…. and most importantly the friendships I have created.

There is just something so personal about you allowing me into your homes, and into your life to capture the very soul of who you are…or at least that has been and always will be my goal. I thank each of you for giving me the chance to do that for you.

And so in return, I want to do something special for you…

The photos I picked were ones that meant something to me, something that tugged at my heartstrings…but trust me this was so hard since I love each session for different reasons.

Like last year, this will be a contest which you can have anyone and everyone vote… only one vote per person, I will be checking, since I want this to be completely fair.

This is my last blog for 2010, and what a way to end it. This family was gorgeous, and so much fun.

They haven’t been all together in 22 years and I was fortunate enough to be there to capture this for them. You would never know it by all the love felt amongst the sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

It truly was a pleasure to meet all of you and I thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home and share some of this precious time with all of you.

And so with every new year comes new experiences, this past year I must admit I was very blessed. The experiences I have had this year, has made me grow in so many ways, in my career, as a mom, as a wife, as a sister, as a daughter and as a friend.

I find a depth to myself, it seems, every passing year and I am slowly finding my authentic self.

Each day I need to remind myself just how lucky I am.

Each day I need to be thankful for all that I have and all that I am.

With the coming year, comes many great surprises for Mellanied Photography, and I anxiously await all I have to share with you.

There is something so magical that happens between a couple when a baby enters their lifes. There is this glow of happiness, this love in their eyes, this renewed spirit that is just so evident to me since I have expirenced the same thing. This sweet couple, no doubt, has this love in their eyes, not only for their precious baby girl but for one another.

Being in their presence reminded me of that wonderful bliss which although you are exhausted, it just gets you through those beginning stages of adjustment with your new bundle.

My poor blog has been neglected lately, not because I haven’t had some wonderful sessions but because in between the holiday rush, shooting sessions, editin, and getting orders out…we got some news of our own, we are expecting baby #5 and I am fighting some serious morning sickness. So expect a few blogs in the next few days so I can catch up with myself.

I am starting with this little princess, who has such an exotic beauty. Beautiful dark features like her mommy. A true beauty! You will remember mom and dad from there maternity session awhile back. There beautiful baby girl is as perfect as the love between this amazing couple.
