So as soon as I met this couple and B starting helping me “place” his beautiful wife to perfect the shot and follow through on obtaining my vision, I had to ask him….

“What zodiac sign are you???”

and– as I thought…he responded: VIRGO.

Oh, the sweet, obsessive, crazy traits of a virgo only another virgo can recognize and appreciate. So I told B…. he was hired as my assistant.

But seriously, I loved this couple, they have the perfect combination of personalities. They just mesh into this perfect weave, complimenting one another so sweetly.

Can’t wait till we get together again!

Here we are again… and I still can not believe a whole year has gone by since the last Best of Contest.

I love doing this, it forces me go through each and every session I did throughout the year and reminds me of all the good times I have had.

The babies I have had the pleasure to meet, the parents who trusted me enough to handle their day old babies, the siblings, the kids…. and most importantly the friendships I have created.

There is just something so personal about you allowing me into your homes, and into your life to capture the very soul of who you are…or at least that has been and always will be my goal. I thank each of you for giving me the chance to do that for you.

And so in return, I want to do something special for you…

The photos I picked were ones that meant something to me, something that tugged at my heartstrings…but trust me this was so hard since I love each session for different reasons.

Like last year, this will be a contest which you can have anyone and everyone vote… only one vote per person, I will be checking, since I want this to be completely fair.

Something about playing dress up reminds me of this all time favorite quote.

“Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.”

I love playing dress up with little girls, it makes me feel young again. Reminds me how the littlest things can make you happy and how carefree kids can be.

It must be the freedom of being a child, and doing whatever your little heart imagines and not worrying about what others will think that draws me to children, I get right in there and remember as though I was 8 just yesterday (don’t I wish!LOL).

When I took these two sweet girls outside to play, we had an audience (no doubt with how cute they were in their red matching dresses and bright blue eyes!), something about kids playing in a busy park in the middle of downtown Montreal just makes you want to stop and enjoy.

I hope your trip here was a pleasant one, even if it was so short!!

I also love when mom suggests to give her daughter who is turning one soon a pastry to have fun with…and who in response to me asking about the pretty dresses getting dirty replies: they can be washed!

Boy did she love it too!

She didn’t stop until it was all finished…no joke!

Where it all Begins ~ Montreal Family Photographer

So often as parents we allow the light shine on our kids, while we fade into the background. But the truth of the matter is, that our children are here because of us; their light shines because of us.

I love when I meet a family, and I see how the kids mimic their parents even in the slightest, little ways.

Knowing this, knowing that these little people pay such attention to our every movement and they hang on to our every word, knowing that… really means something special.

I love capturing some of these moments, the way a little girl holds a baby doll, or smiles exactly like her mom.

As parents, we should stop and realize that even if it doesn’t always feel like it, our kids really do admire us and they really do look up to us.

We should all be proud of ourselves, nobody ever told us being a parent would be so challenging and yet so rewarding all at the same time!

Just remember…where it all begins…is with us…

Josee and I come together to form once upon a time Photography our wedding photography biz {why not come join our page on facebook},

With me being pregnant and now having a young baby we didn’t get to book much this year in terms of weddings and I forgot how much I love capturing this special time in someones life.

It was no exception for this beautiful couple.

When two people come together to bind their love in front of their families and closest friends it is nothing but pure magic.

On this very windy day in September, there seemed to be an extra force with us when they said ~I do. The winds picked up, making us all “feel” the strength in those two simple words.

May your love grow in strength each and every day.

I took this couples maternity photos way back in November and we were suppose to do a newborn session but due to circumstances, it kept on being pushed back. Finally, at long last I got to meet Mr. Smiles, and OH he is such a happy baby!

He has the beautiful spirit of both mom and dad! I adore all the expression he gave me, he was just a total joy to work with.

My Friend – Colleague and Wedding Photographer Partner JOSEE.

What can I say about you …

you have a constant glow around you,

you always do your best to make people around you feel comfortable and loved,

and you are so special in every way.

Josee and I decided to do an exchange of sessions : her celebrating the loss of 30lbs and

my gaining of 30 lbs of baby and we had an absolutely blast doing it.

I have to say, I hate being in front of the camera (hence no pictures of my pregnant belly) but Josee knew exactly how I am and was able to break me…

then again, I haven’t seen any of the pictures so I may just take that back…stay tuned.

She is a mom, a wife, and a hard worker.

She is my sanity on those long days we are doing our thing capturing our wedding clients.

What you don’t know is that Josee just turned 40 this year (don’t kill me Jo for spilling the beans) and she has never looked better!!! Plus who would have never guessed her age!!!

She is genuinely beautiful both inside and out.

Starting sometime after baby (maybe in the fall)l, I will be starting a sister site/company called Belle.

It will be exactly for what it’s called …to make women feel as beautiful as they should. We always tend to put ourselves last and this is going to be my way of giving you an outlet to feel and look beautiful…STAY TUNED!

My poor blog has been neglected lately, not because I haven’t had some wonderful sessions but because in between the holiday rush, shooting sessions, editin, and getting orders out…we got some news of our own, we are expecting baby #5 and I am fighting some serious morning sickness. So expect a few blogs in the next few days so I can catch up with myself.

I am starting with this little princess, who has such an exotic beauty. Beautiful dark features like her mommy. A true beauty! You will remember mom and dad from there maternity session awhile back. There beautiful baby girl is as perfect as the love between this amazing couple.

So what could be better than finding the perfect location, on the perfect day?

Having the perfect family who was game for anything!!

So when I told them… OK everyone go choose a door and everyone strike a pose… they were all for itand I love the outcome.

I honestly had so much fun with this family, oh and can we say photogenic??? How did I get so lucky? Take a look for yourself…these kids could be models… I tell ya!

Last but not least….and I know it has been done a billion times, but I just knew this family would have fun with it…and boy did they ever…seriously…DAD, you are like 3 feet off the ground! WOW…now that is impressive. I adore every single expression here….so fun!

Thank you for letting me play with your family. It is really one I will never forget.
