When I was contacted by the family of the winning portrait for last year, to claim her prize which included a 11×14 Float mount and a complimentary session for 2011 I was thrilled.

I can’t believe it had been close to a year and a half since I last saw them, how time flies…and although little Caden has grown so much, he still has that wonderful spirit and SMILE that won over so many hearts.

Keep smiling buddy, I predict you will charm lots and lots of girls with that smile, and sweet personality!

First thing they said to me was:

Baby always sleeps, we’ll be lucky if we get any photos with the eyes open….

To which I replied :

All parents say that

(but thinking to myself…this baby isn’t going to sleep a wink for me)

Sure enough, this little sweetheart didn’t want much to do with sleeping during our session at all.

She was much to curious.

But I love the results nonetheless – look at those big blue eyes

I was so giddy when this family contacted to me capture their second pregnancy. It honestly makes me so happy being in their presence; they just have this way about them.

They are so in love and so loving … and what makes it even sweeter is that they are so appreciative towards one another.

I met them 2 years ago when this little beauty was still in her mommy’s belly and I watch them become parents for the first time when she was born and I got to capture their first baby girl newborn photos.

They are now expecting their second child which I have the privilege to photograph as well.

T- You are just as beautiful as always; J- The way you love your girls is so Touching and Sweet; E – you are the perfect combination of both your mom and dad, you just light up the room!

Can’t wait to see you all again!

Happy New Year ~ Montreal Family Photographer

This is my last blog for 2010, and what a way to end it. This family was gorgeous, and so much fun.

They haven’t been all together in 22 years and I was fortunate enough to be there to capture this for them. You would never know it by all the love felt amongst the sisters, brothers, cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents.

It truly was a pleasure to meet all of you and I thank you for inviting me into your beautiful home and share some of this precious time with all of you.

And so with every new year comes new experiences, this past year I must admit I was very blessed. The experiences I have had this year, has made me grow in so many ways, in my career, as a mom, as a wife, as a sister, as a daughter and as a friend.

I find a depth to myself, it seems, every passing year and I am slowly finding my authentic self.

Each day I need to remind myself just how lucky I am.

Each day I need to be thankful for all that I have and all that I am.

With the coming year, comes many great surprises for Mellanied Photography, and I anxiously await all I have to share with you.

Girls Just wanna have Fun ~ Montreal Family Photographer

Something about playing dress up reminds me of this all time favorite quote.

“Dance like nobody’s watching; love like you’ve never been hurt. Sing like nobody’s listening; live like it’s heaven on earth.”

I love playing dress up with little girls, it makes me feel young again. Reminds me how the littlest things can make you happy and how carefree kids can be.

It must be the freedom of being a child, and doing whatever your little heart imagines and not worrying about what others will think that draws me to children, I get right in there and remember as though I was 8 just yesterday (don’t I wish!LOL).

When I took these two sweet girls outside to play, we had an audience (no doubt with how cute they were in their red matching dresses and bright blue eyes!), something about kids playing in a busy park in the middle of downtown Montreal just makes you want to stop and enjoy.

I hope your trip here was a pleasant one, even if it was so short!!

I also love when mom suggests to give her daughter who is turning one soon a pastry to have fun with…and who in response to me asking about the pretty dresses getting dirty replies: they can be washed!

Boy did she love it too!

She didn’t stop until it was all finished…no joke!

Theories ~ Montreal Newborn & Family Photographer

You will remember these blue eyed boys from the maternity session I did not long ago. Mom and Dad didn’t know what they were having, but theory has it that if you have two children of the same sex, you have a higher chance of having the same for the third.

Well not only did I prove that theory wrong but so did this family! After 2 boys, they were blessed with a beautiful baby girl and she is just perfect!

I must admit since having my baby girl, I do have a weak spot for girls!

However, boys are still sweethearts and I love all my kids…it is so obvious that this family does as well!!!

These blue eyed boys were just gorgeous and so fun to work with. Mommy is expecting her third now … but doesn’t know if she is having a girl or a boy! We will need to wait until the newborn session to find out. Now I know hoe everyone felt when I didn’t know the sex of our baby!!

D- It was such a pleasure getting to know your little family, there is so much love between you and your hubby— it really was so touching!

They say:

The best thing a father can do for his children is love their mother!

This without a doubt is true and your sweet boys obviously sense this!

Mom and Dad were worried that I didn’t getting any smiley photos…. well I sure did and he is just the cutest!!

This is officially my last session, now me and my big belly will relax for the couple of weeks I have before the new little one blesses our life’s.

It was a great way to end it, he is so squeezable and loveable as you will see of yourselves…
