With 2012 around the corner,

there are many projects and big plans for Mellanied Photography…

I just can not wait to share with all of you.

I hope to continue with a line of “Newborn Art: by Mellanied Photography” and have it published: so stay tuned for some details on that.

Everyone knows how much I love babies, how I love to spend hours perfecting the shots and loving on all my babies.

A newborn baby,

is a piece of art

all their own.

Each and every newborn baby I meet

allows me

to create beauty.

I feel so very blessed to do what I do.

Large Families ~ Montreal Family and Newborn Photographer

Far and Few between do we see large families but back in the day it was considered the norm to have 6, 7, 8 PLUS children.

Why have times changed so much, what is so different now than it was back then?

In a world with instant gratification, with literally anything at our fingertips, has this made us more lazy?

Less capable?

Less family oriented?

I know I constantly hear (and say!) how kids are just so different now, how we were outside at the crack of dawn until our parents would be yelling at us to come in. Yet our children now have to be forced to play outside and use their imagination.

But who is really at fault?

Is it us?

Is it society?

Or is this just how the world is progressing?

These are questions I constantly wonder about and would love to hear your opinions.

That being said, everyone knows we have a ton of kids in our home, and I always have a soft spot of any other large families. So when Cassie asked me to be part of her 4th baby’s arrival, I was thrilled.

A perfect addition to a perfect family.

When it’s time to blog a session, I take the overall feeling of the family, the kids, the session and this is how I get inspired as to what write. I am by no means a writer, actually my writing and spelling abilities are atrocious {don’t pretend you didn’t notice…lol} but I do write from the heart, and I hope that is what comes across {and cancels out all my grammar errors: insert big smiley face here}.

So I search for quotes, sayings, poems and I work around it and the feeling it gives me. Today, my first thoughts about this family was that they were playful…

and so I came across this description…

“Playfulness means being able to explore and to do things, for the sheer delight of doing them. It means relaxing, being spontaneous, and allowing a situation to carry you where it will. When we have a playful attitude, learning and discovery are fun, and even hard work can fly by.”

I love it.

Who knew being playful could be so good for us!

While we are here to teach our children,

I think we can learn a lot from them too.

So…

Lets all take a break from our stressful days

from rushing

from worrying

and lets just be playful today.

Of course this baby girl was born smiling. If I had to use one word to describe this couple when I met them during our maternity session it would be fun-loving-happy-people. OK, ok …that was 4 words but seriously, they are so easy going and were so fun to work with.

Of course their baby girl gave me smiles too.

I have a hard time believing that a newborn doesn’t “really” smile.

Seriously,

I have captured it too many times to *know* it is real….

for real.

REAL smiles.

Just wish I knew what they were smiling at in their sleep.

I like to believe it has to be the angels they are remembering.

Makes it that much more special.

Eyes Wide Open~ Montreal Baby Photographer

First thing they said to me was:

Baby always sleeps, we’ll be lucky if we get any photos with the eyes open….

To which I replied :

All parents say that

(but thinking to myself…this baby isn’t going to sleep a wink for me)

Sure enough, this little sweetheart didn’t want much to do with sleeping during our session at all.

She was much to curious.

But I love the results nonetheless – look at those big blue eyes

A baby changes your life in so many ways.

Absolutely Love stronger.

and Harder.

Amongst so many other things. Who knew it would be such a hard yet rewarding job.

One thing for certain, I appreciate my parents so much more now that I am a parent…isn’t it strange how everything somehow, someway gets put into perceptive.

Loved this session, and knew it would be wonderful the moment I walked into their beautiful home.

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy, he is so special and sweet.

I can tell already that he will have a gentle soul, a soft touch but a strong mind.

You are so blessed.

Enjoy every little moment because it does pass so quickly,

watch as he discovers the world around him,

listen when he speaks from his heart,

and sing when you don’t know what else to do.

That is the best advice I can give any new mom.
