Every day I realize that each human being is created so differently. Yes, we can have similarities, but overall, there are no two people alike. While I may react one way to a certain circumstance, another may interpret it completely differently. Misunderstandings happen. What we need to remember is to not take everything so personally and just enjoy that someone else has a different opinion. Nothing is perfect, not even ‘the perfect couple’, remember the more you accept your partner as they are, the stronger your love will grow.

“Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, It is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always preserves.”

I am constantly stressing that I value giving my clients a personalized experience. That it is one of the most important aspects of my job and my creative mind, that it is what gives me the results that I strive to get. I live for it. Not only behind my camera but I try to keep it real in all aspects of my life.

Starting now and continuing once a week, I will share a little about me and my life, my thoughts, my feelings. What better way to personalize my services than sharing some personal stuff about myself. Even the not so great stuff. I just want to keep it real.

Since I know a big camera in your face can be intimidating, and if you value photos the way I do, then you will want to know a bit about the person behind the lens,  the one handling your days old baby, the one asking you if you want shots of your bare belly when you are carrying that beautiful baby.

So here goes.

My main issue is keeping up with all I have to do. Can you believe that! I swear I never have enough time to get all the things I need to get done, I do my best but sometimes(many times), yes, I feel like I am spread too thin. I am a real person, I am not a super woman. I am a mom, a wife, a daughter, a sister, a business woman. I am expected to be so many things all at once it can get slightly overwhelming but you know what…I  am just me.

I am not perfect.

I cry,

I laugh,

I scream,

I sing off key,

I sometimes forget to brush my hair before running out to bring all 5 kids to school.

I am not perfect but I have finally learnt that perfect is unrealistic. I make mistakes.

One thing you can guarantee, and I hope most people who know me would agree is that I put my heart into everything I do. This got me thinking. Though everything appears to be so perfect on the outside, things on the inside were actually falling apart.

I decided very recently, that I need to learn to better balance my time. I have been working so hard at getting this business off the ground, having babies and raising  them … that somewhere along the way, the special time with my Carmine always seemed to get pushed to the back burner. I realized through our fighting, that he needs me too, and I need him. We are the foundation of our home. If we aren’t good, everyone feels it.

So this is for him. I had to share this photo of him with our youngest. As strong headed as he is, he has such a soft side and I captured it perfectly here. It is what I love so much about him.

She slowly makes her way to home plate, it’s her turn up to bat. Janet has been playing for years but today is her day to shine.

At the other end is Rob, waiting patiently in left field and he has no clue what is about to hit him.

HOME RUN. Sparks fly. The team cheers them on. It was destined.

When Janet approached me to shoot her wedding, I was ecstatic. I learnt about how Rob and Janet met, how their love grew so perfectly and now how they would unite and be wed. It is honestly a compliment when someone asks me to be the one to capture one of the most important days of their life’s. We are there every step of the way, we know every little detail, we share the joys, the mishaps, the tears and most importantly the laughs. Oh- how we laughed.

These babies are to die for! Honestly, or maybe it is because they really are taken of “my babies” but what an amazing combo.

I have canvas up on my walls and swore by them but I wanted something a little more subtle for my living room and these were the perfect fit…I love having a variety in my home and these just make me smile!

With me being pregnant and now having a young baby we didn’t get to book much this year in terms of weddings and I forgot how much I love capturing this special time in someones life.

It was no exception for this beautiful couple.

When two people come together to bind their love in front of their families and closest friends it is nothing but pure magic.

On this very windy day in September, there seemed to be an extra force with us when they said ~I do.  The winds picked up, making us all “feel” the strength in those two simple words.

May your love grow in strength each and every day.

True Love is eternal. It is timeless with no beginning and no end. The symbolism of the rings is just that, a circle of eternity, a love that will last forever.  Fighting the odds and sticking by one another through thick and thin.

I am quite confident that this fun loving, beautiful couple will do just that. It is in the way he glances at her when nobody is looking or the way she smiles after he holds her tight and kisses her. These are things that are shown without words, that can only be noticed if one takes the time to look. This is why I love what I do. I love being able to transmit these emotions, and show them as I see them.  I know I am a very expressive, emotional being, and each moment has meaning, so I take my inner emotions and escape into your reality to create your story for you to have forever.

Erin and Angus, I hope with all my heart we were able to capture all your moments for you. It was a pleasure being part of your special day. Here is a little sneak peek of your day. My wedding partner  and I just did our first official wedding and I have to say it went so well.  We are offically taking clients as “Once Upon a Time Photography”.  It is so meaningful to the both of us that true emotion come through in our work, and what could be more important than that on your wedding day! I think this is why we work so well together!

Although it was pouring rain (what else is new in Montreal!) on my drive to the brides house, we couldn’t have had a better outcome. The sun came out at just the right moment and the wedding couldn’t have gone smoother. The love between the beautiful couple truly shined!

Here is your sneak peek Karine & Guy… I hope you love them as much as Josee and I enjoyed taking them. Karine, you were so very beautiful, calm and in control. Guy, the love you have for your new wife touched the very core of my soul!

Ma partenaire de mariage et moi venons tout juste de finir notre premier mariage officiel et je dois vous dire que tout s’est déroulé magnifiquement. Dès maintenant nous nous engageons en tant que “Il Était une fois Photographie”. Il est de la plus grande importance pour nous que les émotions les plus subtiles soient elles transparaissent à travers notre travail, et que peut-il y avoir de plus important le jour de votre mariage! Je crois que c’est pourquoi nous travaillons si bien ensemble.

Même si la pluie  tombait de plus belle en route pour retrouver la marié ( quoi de neuf à Montréal)  nous n’aurions pu imaginer une plus belle issue.
